MEZUX is an exclusive Optical Fiber Cable Technology solution provider, consisting of young & dynamic entrepreneurs having experience in the field of Fiber Optic Cabling, trenching, blowing, Splicing & Testing, etc. Various activities involved in this operation are as under:
We provide excellent service for duct laying – both by open trenching (excavation of earth) and by HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling), without resorting to open trenching.
We have executed major works of trenching, duct-laying, blowing of OFC & Splicing/terminations for clients like Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd., in West Bengal (180 kms)and in Tamil Nadu (150 kms), Reliance East West Pipeline at Hyderabad (250 kms) and also for Indian Oil Corporation (Chennai-Trichy Pipeline project – 350 kms), apart from providing similar services for different Telecom firms in India.
We own the Plant & Machinery required for the above work in India and we can mobilize them for similar work at Oman.. Qualified & competent resources are available on our rolls for carrying out trenching of all kinds.
We are following the internationally acknowledged splicing technology viz., Fusion Method, which is briefly explained as under:-
"Splicing is used to permanently join two optical fibers where no additional changes are expected to be made to those fibers at that junction. In fusion splicing the two fibers are literally welded or fused together with a Fusion Splicing Machine. This makes for a strong joint that exhibits very low loss and virtually no reflection." Once a splice has been, it often needs to be measured to find out the splice loss at that joint.
OPGW cable is the short form of Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire. OPGW cable is used for installation on new power lines with double function of ground wire and communication, especially for installation on normal voltage and extra high voltage power lines.
There will be two ends of OPGW cable at the Transmission Tower; these two ends are brought down from the tower, splicing is down at both ends of the OPGW in the joint box and fixed at the top level of the tower. Here also it is the same fusion splicing method.
An OTDR is a specialized test instrument for optical fiber. It is a very useful tool in that it provides a representative picture of the fiber and only requires access to one end of the fiber. An OTDR is the best method of measuring the loss of an individual splice. The industry recognizes that the most accurate measurement of actual splice loss is the average of a 2-way (bidirectional) OTDR test.
This is useful for checking the optical power in performing link-loss testing or trouble-shooting.
